Co-op Work Experience

Co-op Work Experience is a required course in the Accounting certificate, Associate of Applied Science Business degrees, Cascade Culinary Institute Culinary certificate, and Office Assistant certificate. Coop experience provides an opportunity for students to apply learned skills to real tasks in their degree industry.

Students need to contact assigned department faculty for co-op packet, secure a position related to your program of study, and complete co-op agreement with the help of co-op supervisor and position supervisor. Instructor permission to register required.

BA 180   Co-op Work Experience Business
A learning strategy desigend to enhance a student's knowledge, designed to enhance a student's knowledge, personal development, professional development, and professional preparation by initegrating academic study with practical experience. Prerequisite: BA 101 or instructor permission required.

BA 280 Co-op Work Experience Business
Provides work learning credit for student employment in fields pertaining to the
business curriculum. Credit is given based upon a total workload of 100 hours
per term and completion of learning objectives. Learning experience coordinated
with student's supervisor. Permission of Co-op Work Experience coordinator re-
quired prior to registration. May be repeated once. 3 credits

CCI 280 Co-op Work Experience Culinary
Enhances student's knowledge, personal development, professional develop-
ment, and professional preparation by integrating academic study with practical experience. On-the-job training in a restaurant or food service environment.
Instructor permission required.  6 credits

OA 280 Co-op Work Experience Office
Enhances a student's knowledge, personal development, professional develop-
ment and professional preparation by integrating academic study with practical experience. In addition to completing on-the-job training in an office situation,
students will discuss work attitudes, work ethics and other human relations
topics as they relate to successful employment in an office environment. Faculty coordinator will work with the student to arrange a suitable work site; however,
it is ultimately the responsibility of the student to obtain an appropriate position. Instructor permission required. 3 credits
